Gemdale Viseen International Center: A Modernistic Marvel

Eh Design Group's Award-Winning Office Space Redefines Urban Aesthetics

The Gemdale Viseen International Center, an office space standing tall in a flourishing corner of Beijing, is a testament to the power of geometric lines and modernistic design concepts. The Eh Design Group, inspired by the beauty and characteristics that urban elites have come to expect, has created a structure that is both simple and grand. The building, a combination of geometric figures, blends in quietly but openly with the city, representing a place of unlimited potential as an extension of urban exchanges and functions of space.

The design team applied the 'simple outside, sophisticated inside' design method. The outer face of the building is covered with double-decked corrugated glass polished top and bottom, while the inner face is decorated with stainless steel drawings themed around Beijing Daxing International Airport. This design choice brings a vision of the future to the building and tells stories about the city, space, and people. The exhibition area, like a shining box, replaces thick walls with large sheets of glass and thin lines with concealed frames.

Technical specifications of the design include a solo sofa with dimensions of Width 1050mm x Depth 900mm x Height 980mm and a sculpture measuring Width 3400mm x Depth 32mm x Height 5900mm. The design team, consisting of Hui Ma, Hai Lin, Lei Zhou, Xiaoyi Shen, and Lujun Sun, faced the challenge of creating an optimally suitable office environment for each scenario, given the functions and personnel characteristics of different office areas.

The design team also ensured that the building's functional spaces could be shuffled around and regrouped, providing a flexible layout and arrangement. With adequate natural lighting and unhindered natural ventilation, the building breaks the regular rhythm of typical humdrum offices. The idea of indoor arcs was borrowed from outdoor design concepts, showing an enterprising spirit embedded in the building.

The project, which started in April 2019 and finished in August 2020, has been recognized for its outstanding design and innovation. The Gemdale Viseen International Center was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
